Our Projects

Health Education

In Africa, the majority of deaths result from preventable illnesses. Many youths lack access to accurate, Ministry of Health–guided information on sexual and reproductive health, communicable diseases, and non-communicable diseases. On our Facebook and YouTube platforms, we engage young people through health talks, lifestyle modification campaigns, and digital advocacy to empower vigilance about personal and community health.

Screening

Early diagnosis saves lives, yet access to regular screening remains low in many communities. We partner with cultural, religious, government, and international organizations to expand screening for both communicable and non-communicable diseases. Our goal is to magnify Ministry of Health screening efforts by reaching the most at-risk populations and linking them to quality care.

Rehabilitation

Chronic illnesses and mental health conditions remain neglected areas in Uganda and across Africa. Patients often lack psychosocial support after diagnosis. Wake Up Youths Africa is working to build mental health rehabilitation centers to provide ongoing care, supplementing existing Ministry of Health facilities and filling gaps in youth-focused mental health services.

Research and Innovation

Africa needs evidence-based solutions guided by home-grown data. We are nurturing the next generation of researchers, starting as early as primary school. By engaging youths in school-based research, we are building a culture of inquiry and innovation. Our Facebook and YouTube pages highlight youth-led research dialogues that aim to influence health policies across Africa.

Poverty and Economic Empowerment

Poverty is a driver of poor health. We mentor youths in online business, financial literacy, and sustainable agriculture to enhance their economic independence. Through our Yo-Gadgets Centre Project, we are addressing the urgent needs of youths and students in Ishaka Bushenyi by providing access to affordable computers and electronic devices, offering mobile money and bank agent payment services, equipping young people with digital and entrepreneurial skills for the future.
